OK.I'm going to have to show my ignorance as far as what I actually have! How/where do I look to determine exactly what I have so that I can put this question to rest? As I said in the OP, I have an external PC as the Fiery controller mated with a Xerox Color 570 printer. Needless to say.everything is as delivered by Xerox. When I try to run that version, I get an error (within Ubuntu and after saying I want to run with the attached mouse/kbd/display) that says: Fiery Clone Tool only supports genuine Fiery Hardware. According to the 'Tech Note Fiery Clone Tool.pdf' document, only version 1.6 supports Win 7 64 bit. I have an external Fiery controller working with a Xerox Color 570 printer.
